The Burnt Sausages

Burnt Sausages Tray

Oh God. See The Burnt Sausages. You must.

Melbourne-borne band The Burnt Sausages dress up like burnt sausages. All their props are about burnt sausages. All their songs relate to burnt sausages. You think you’d get sick of such hot-dogged focus on an absurdly specific slice of Australian Summer culture, but damn it, it just works.

Song About Sauce – THE BURNT SAUSAGES

They also have a pair of human tongs that comes on stage and dances, and a human piece of bread that enters the crowd and hugs people in the audience. Wow. Wow. Wow.

There are currently no official tracks of The Burnt Sausages, but you can check out some of their demos here.

See The Burnt Sausages at Hobart’s world-famous Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) on December 27 and 28. Or, watch them at the festival Camp Casual on Feburary 27 – March 1 along with fellow budding Aussie artists Empat Lima, Strict Face, Mangelwurzel, Mesa Cosa and more.
