Femme – S.O.S. (NZCA Lines Remix)

Everything that NZCA Lines touches is worth viewing from a height, is worth analysing in wonder, knowing you’re never going to figure out the fucking mystery of why his beats are so goddamn sublime.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of discovering his music (he, being Michael Lovett of London), chase down the NZCA Lines self-titled debut and more recent release New Atmosphere stat.

Here he has taken fellow UK artist Femme‘s gutsy track S.O.S. and added a floaty, meandering dimension through the overlaid keys. It brings a bit of sensuality to the track that wasn’t there before.

Not that Femme is not an interesting artist in her own right. Her name is Laura Bettinson and after playing the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2009, she came to the attention of Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, going on to front his side project Ultraista.

This NZCA Lines remix sits alongside two others by Secaina Hudson and Opal Blue on an extended S.O.S. remixes release out through ZTT Records and is available on iTunes.
