Godwolf – Alone (Japanese Wallpaper rework)

Simplicity is not easy to achieve in music: even in pop music. Many musicians tear their hair out trying to make a song that is both simple yet effectual. But Melbourne’s sixteenyearold Gab Strum of Japanese Wallpaper proves he has simplicity sussed out time and time again with each track released. His latest: a remix of Melbourne indie/electronic outfit GodWolf’s, Alone.

Prior to this release, Japanese Wallpaper has gallantly remixed Foals, The XX and Bon Iver. His live show at 10am on Sunday morning at the Inca Roads Festival 2012 just outside of Melbourne left the crowd feeling peaceful and rejuvenated while simultaneously gobsmacked at the globules of talent revolving and oscillating around the musician like a luminous Rorschach aura.

You can buy his EP or remix EP on his bandcamp page and see an interview with him from The Ripe.tv at Inca Roads Festival 2012 here.
