Camera2 – Just About Made It

Name dropping; normally a past time for wankers. But I’m going to go ahead and get involved in the case of Brooklyn’s Camera2. Their line up boasts some pretty weighty names; front man Andy Chase, has worked with Tahiti 80, Juliana Hatfield and The Smashing Pumpkins, while guitarist Michael Jurin is of Stellastarr* fame. Topping it off, one half of Blondfire (one of this year’s highlights) Bruce Driscoll has co-produced their debut EP.

And their sound? Mature and moody, deep and eclectic, twisted and distorted. Just About Made It their first single, opens with with synth patterns entangled with mysterious vocal harmonies. An experimental track making a statement that resonates with us in our western world struggle. In the 3rd act of the track, there’s an unexpected tempo and rhythm change, as if Camera2 are saying, wait, there’s more! And there will be, in January. Bring it.
