Ginger & The Ghost – One Type of Dark (Ta-ku Remix)

Sydney Indie outfit Ginger & The Ghost meet Perth heavyweight Ta-ku in a remix that musically epitomizes the sentiment ‘opposites attract’. One Type of Dark plays out a bit like a chess game in a kaleidoscope. Ta-ku drills offbeat, deeply slanted electronica through the sweetly, edgy vocals of Ginger & The Ghost til they collide in a sort of diagonal air born dance, causing sparks of friction to fly as they rub and slide against one another.

Ginger & The Ghost are a duo from Northern NSW that rely on elements of spontaneaity and intuition when making music, creating unexpectedly unique sounds from unconventional objects and integrating them with the effervescent vocals of Ginger. Quirky and mesmerising their tunes sound like a musical trip into a stack of Little Golden Books, flicking through influences like the Jezebels, Lykke Li, and Bjork.

Ginger & The Ghost have just released their debut EP which is available for download via itunes here.

You can also download the Ta-ku remix here and support the culmination of some of Australia’s blossoming musical talents.
