Wye Oak – Glory

Baltimore’s Wye Oak, with their gorgeous track Civilian and album of the same name, stole many an indie heart through their delightfully unassuming and emotionally charged ballads.

The second release off their upcoming record Shriek, Glory begins with a modest beat, which climbs subtly and sexily as Jenn Wasner’s inviting vocals beckon you to follow. The song builds in interesting lashings of synth and off-kilter guitars, giving it the lucent, edgy and assured feel we have come to love from this Maryland duo. It’s a good indication that Shriek is going to deliver on being one of the best indie releases of the year.

It’s out April 29 through Merge Records, and an Australian tour is planned for later in the year.
