Catfish and the Bottlemen – Homesick

When genres are changing and morphing so quickly it’s impossible to keep up, one thing remains untouched. A solid force that cannot be beaten. Indie rock; the ever lasting gobstopper of music. But, making a scene within this scene is pretty tough as it’s hard not sound formulaic and samey.

Proving it’s possible to sound fresh and exciting is Catfish and the Bottlemen; their first single Homesick has exploded into the world and seen them sign to Communion Records. It’s raw, powerful and loaded with irresistible sexual tension. With no band member over the age of 19 (!), this group of 4 Welsh lads already have an air of The Strokes about them – not just because of front man Van McCann’s vocals. Exciting times ahead.

Homesick is out on June 17 via Communion – you should definitely pre-order it. You can also catch the boys playing The Bar Fly in London on June 3.
