Kishi Bashi – Bright Whites

The glorious sounds Kishi Bashi are really like nothing else around.  It’s impossible to pin a genre on him; he’s a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, who makes some of the most charming and quirky songs in the experimental-folk-tronic spectrum. From America, he’s also a touring member of of Montreal and Regina Spektor. His solo stuff is full of a delightful energy. Like a child discovering Narnia, you feel like you’re exploring as you listen. His album is coming out this month via Inertia – it’s very good.

His albums are already out at Joyful Noise Recordings. K has left Of Montreal to concentrate on his solo projects. He actually had a hit 5 years ago as front man for the group Jupiter One. You might remember the song “Countdown” featured in the video game NFL Madden 08. Check it out on YouTube. BTW his live performances are better than his recordings!
