The Townhouses – Tokyo

diaspora

Melbourne based producer, The Townhouses (aka Leigh Hannah), has just dropped his second album, Diaspora. Hannah excels in spawning chilled and atmospheric little numbers, which despite their intricate weavings, retain an uncanny weightlessness. Think tuned percussion, airy vocals, and lashings of reverb. Tokyo has a relaxing, almost meditative quality to it, between the falsetto, collage of chimes and lush piano chords;  it’s no wonder feelings of ‘oneness’, ‘extreme tranquility’, and ‘borderline enlightenment’, have been reported. Diaspora is available as a name your price download via Yes Please Records, best enjoyed under a tree somewhere.
