Nicole Millar – Fall
What with all the filtering, pitching, and general vocoding that goes on with voices in world of beats production, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear an artist just as she’d sound in the flesh.
You might recognise Nicole Millar’s empyreal vocals from Cosmos Midnight’s track, Phantasam which we featured a couple of months ago. Her voice is perfect for this sub genre of dreamy bass music as it’s flow is so natural it makes the programmed sounds beneath it sound organic too.
Millar doesn’t sound pouty, contrived or put on – she sounds real. Which is why she’s so in demand. After all, a vocal hook is often the way snag a fan-base, and with a voice as pure as this I’m sure many more collabs and solo stuff are on Millar’s cards.
