Jack Garratt – Water
If a debut track is so profound it can silence the noisiest of minds, creating a follow up could be as hard as the notorious second album.
But London’s Jack Garratt certainly doesn’t fit any mould, and his second single is just as powerful as I Couldn’t Want You Anyway. Blending beats, deep bass and rich vocals, Garratt is on Chet Faker’s trail with this one. Just like its predecessor, Water builds slowly, bridges gaps in genres, with Garratt’s vocals leading the way to climax – followed by his signature nod to his love and understanding of jazz.
Is there an EP on the way? Probably. But I don’t think Garratt is the type to talk much about the future, but rather to just be in the present.
