A Mix On Repeat..

After a week off (sorry) we’re back with a few things we can see making more noise than just audio ones in the next seven days. There’s an unconscious theme to the songs which see us regress to Teenager Town & stuff that makes you want to cry a bit.

Get associated with new track prospects from RAINES, The Academic, Alma Elste & Beach Baby.

The Academic – Different

If you like your indie-rock topped-off with a serving of pop look no further than Ireland’s The Academic who are new to Repeat Button but somebody we see being regulars already. There’s glimpses of The Killers, Two Door Cinema Club & Bombay Bicycle Club. It ridiculously catchy & one for the radio. You can hear the school bell ring & summer holidays come calling.

RAINES – Ghosts

RAINES has lit up today with this debut track, ‘Ghosts’. A sparse, melodic pop track, the arrangement of the song fits perfectly around the beautiful, chilling vocal of RAINES, who we are told is actually called Mike Nelson and comes from Liverpool. There is something about this track that is fiercely emotive, deeply personal. Take a listen below.

Alma Elste – Virtualism

22-year-old Parisienne Alma Elste comes in strong on her follow-up to Heart Melter which we loved. It’s less pop than her debut but with this it’s appealing as its rare you get so much atmosphere & connection to electronic music these days but Virtualism is a stone cold hammer on the heart.

Beach Baby – Ladybird

This is fucking cool. Sometimes your first thoughts are the best to jot down. Not that it really sounds like French band The Teenagers, but it sure creates the same feeling of youth, lust & actual times of being carefree. We thought we’d end on this track as a point to reminisce.
