Mammals – Move Slower

Move Slower is the type of track that seeps into your mind, melting into shapes that spark your imagination with images as visually sumptuous as it is musically. To me, Move Slower is set in an underwater playground…mermaids tails float in and out, limbs and hair become intertwined creating a resonating, wavering echo. The whole track has an element of liquidity to it, vocals drift and flow while bass and synths melt and ripple around each other giving it a lovely, subtle depth.

Mammals are a Sydney based group consisting of four members; Guy Brown, Henry Wells, Nathaniel Joyce and PJ Wolf from Sydney.  Falling into the ever ambiguous, newly amalgamated category of Indie-Folk-Electronica their sound is hazy ambience at its best and it comes as no surprise that some of their primary musical influences are Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley.

Mammals have recently been added to Triple J’s list of unearthed artists and you can download 3 of their gorgeous tracks here.
