Joel Hood – Teardrops

Hailing from a small town in the north of the UK, you wouldn’t expect Joel Hood’s music to sound as warm and lovely. No disrespect to the north, like – I’m a Brit after all – but it can be pretty grim up there. Despite this, his work sounds like it was created in the sunny climates of the west coast of America. By his own admission, his stuff is ‘not very danceable’. Which is fine by me. Instead it’s mellow and soothing. A modern lullaby for stressed out rat-racers.  No doubt he’ll become more popular this year. He’s already been commissioned for some remix projects, so keep an eye on Hood’s soundcloud for more of the good stuff.
