… A Mix On Repeat …

a mic on repeat.

This instalment of A Mix On Repeat is somewhat of a session of catching up on what we missed last week. Get Chelsea Lankes, Quigley, Goth Pith & FOXTROTT on your stereo now.

Quigley: Lost Again.

First up on our playlist is LA’s Quigley, who has grabbed our attention with ‘Lost Again’. We’ve seen her compared to FKA Twigs, and while we can’t really hear that, she absolutely does remind us of LIGHTS. Her vocal is light and floaty, the production is alluring. This is nice intro to Quigley.

Gosh Pith: Child

Gosh Pith make music that is very hard to define. They touch upon a number of genres, without really nailing their mast to any. Their latest track, ‘Child’, is a grower, but is worth persevering with. We feel like a live show by these guys is some experience.

We first heard Foxtrott a couple of years ago, and in fact, only recently wondered quite where she had gone, so it was nice to see her pop again recently. New track ‘Driven’, from an upcoming LP on One Little Indian, is intricate and pretty in very interesting ways. Get with this.

Chelsea Lankes:Love. Hate. Pain. Killer

Were somewhat of Chelsea superfine. This new one titled “Love. Hate. Pain. Killer” is from the short film Mr. Happy starring Chance the Rapper (who we also adore.) It’s a beautifully crafted track that explodes in the middle eight. This is our favourite thing she’s done by an online mile.

Ascio: Heart Hide Ft. San Mei

Something a little more under the radar, but very cool, is ‘Heart Hide’. Ascio has teamed up with San Mei on the track, which is well worth a listen on a fine summer night.
