A Mix On Repeat..
Good morning. Last week we were super happy to see from our list that Milk And Bone, Little Shoes Big Voice & EXGF had successful first weeks & high charting positions on Hype Machine. Read back & see our tips last week HERE.
This week we can see how the week is shaping & see big Moments for Madeon & Passion Pit, Oceaán & Låpsley, Young Wonder, Rag N Bone Man & La+Ch. We’ve thrown in a remix of Years & Years’ King by TCTS because it’s pretty great, don’t you think?
Madeon – Pay No Mind (Feat. Passion Pit)
A sure fire fit amongst the blogs this week is Madeon’s Pay No Mind who’s recruited label pals Passion Pit for vocals. It’s the best we’ve heard of Madeon & possibly worst we’ve heard from Passion Pit (who we adore) but it somehow comes up nicely in the middle. Enjoy a subtle summer bounce below;
Young Wonder – Intergalactic
A good day today, as Young Wonder return with their new track, “Intergalactic”. If you loved their tracks ‘To You’ and ‘Time’, you’ll no doubt fall for this one too. Ian Ring’s production is just stellar while the vocals of Rachel Koeman carry a lovely sweetness with them, further accentuated by the intricately placed blips and bloops within the production. This is a lovely listen – check it out below.
Oceaán – Need U / This Woman’s Work – Feat. Låpsley (Live at Maida Vale Studios)
We’re just going to go with WOW on this one from Oceaán at Maida Vale. We haven’t really covered Låpsley much on Repeat Button but her inclusion really makes it stand-out beautifully along with the elegant strings. Get involved!
Rag N Bone Man – Bitter End
Dude’s got soul. Dude’s essentially got it, hasn’t he? He’s got his Disfigured EP coming out in March & this Bitter End track is a proper nice, so you should expect the same across the full extended play.
La+Ch – Crave
This is the first time we’ve covered La+Ch on Repeat Button who’s come up with a really British sounding, chilled track with elements of trance. Vocally there’s a bit soul thrown in for extra measure.
Years & Years – King (TCTS Remix)
Good shout from Years & Years to get TCTS in re-imagine their track King on the dance floor. It fits like a hit in itself, and we can see it doing well some point soon.
