… A Mix On Repeat …
We definitely feel like we’ve won the weekend war with a few old school inspired garage/house beauties in our round-up this week. Huge props to UKF for helping us discover a few awesome gems too.
Jack Garratt – Chemical (AMTRAC Remix)
You know how much we love Jack Garratt here over at Repeat Button. Out editor Jess did a little interview last week HERE. He’s also got his new EP out on Monday & before that you can grab hold of this exceptional AMTRAC remix below which we tagged from UKF’s sound cloud below.
Arches Feat. Karen Harding – “New Love”
Arches is great. This garage-inspired offering New Love featuring Karen Harding is just what we need in our lives as we ready ourselves for the weekend. It reminds us one of favourites, Clean Bandit. It’s strikes that balance so well, being both classic dancehall treasure, yet it feels so fresh at the same time.
TCTS – Thinking About You (Koncept Remix)
Another gem we found from UKF is London-based producer TCTS who’s got a brand new EP for MTA Records, the label helmed by Chase & Status. The Body EP opens with Balearic-tinged number Thinking About You & Koncept’s mix is an exceptional cut of drum & bass.
CAPPA – In The Morning
Changing the pace completely with this one by CAPPA. It reminds us a bit of us a summer evening’s version of recent blogging sensation, Phoebe Ryan. this new track In The Morning is great, and there’s enough atmosphere conjured-up in this cinematic, downtempo electronic sweetener to warrant the blog brigade that’s already posted it. We feel silly for being late on it.
Cape Lion – Called You Mine
Cape Lion are a Swedish duo who make some fantastic pop that spirals majestically into a flurry of beautiful electronic synths. You can see the appeal in them being a festival favourite some time real soon.
