Zambri – From The Starts

I’ve never seen a band perform using 3 microphones held together with sparkly tape, each using a different filter. The result is something very unusual. Surreal, haunting, and with echoes of madness, Zambri have a pretty unique sound. The sultry voices of 2 sisters singing about love and loss against a back drop of bizarre but beautiful noise, wouldn’t be out of place on a Darren Aronofsky film soundtrack.  The conflict between the heavenly soundscapes and the frenzied reverb in From The Starts, makes for a rather moving, yet slightly nightmarish listening experience.
